SPINC interior design

SPINC interior design is a casual, friendly boutique consultancy based in Waikanae on the Kapiti Coast.

At SPINC we have strong relationships with many local businesses, stores and trades people to ensure the most suitable, qualified and knowledgeable professionals are working on our projects.

Our mission is for your home to be brought to life with interiors that reflect your style.

THE PROCESS

Initial Assessment

We start with a casual, no obligation appointment to discuss your needs, view your property, to take pictures and any measurements.

 

The initial meeting usually lasts between 40 - 60 minutes. It is an ideal opportunity get to know one another, make sure our ideas align and that we are going to be able to work successfully together in having your home brought to life with interiors that reflect your style.

Consulting takes place at the clients home, or by arrangement via Skype.

 

Follow Up

After our initial assessment we will contact you again within a day or two to see if you wish to proceed and if in agreement we will develop a design plan (mood board) for your space.

 

The design plan will provide a broad overview on our recommendations for paint colors, floor coverings, window treatments, or whatever other advice you require. We will then return to your home to present and discuss our design plan with you.

The cost of the design plan is dependant on the project scope and will be discussed prior to commencement. In some cases this is all our clients require. In these instances, our clients prefer to pay us for the design plan and then do their own purchasing, construction, hiring and management of subcontractors and installation while referencing the details we have provided them for material and colour selection.

Project Management

In other cases, our clients prefer to retain us after the initial consultation and use us to manage their project, purchase materials, furnishings, and hire contractors.

Having us manage your project allows you to concentrate on other priorities while we focus on making sure contractors are in place, products and sourced and the project runs to schedule.

What costs are involved?

Initial Assessment

  • Approximately 40 to 60 minutes depending on scope of project;

  • Charged at 100 + GST per hour (or part thereof).

Consulting takes place at the clients home, or by arrangement via Skype.

Follow Up

After our initial assessment we will contact you again within a day or two to see if you wish to proceed and if in agreement we will develop a design plan for your space.

 

This will include:

  • A mood board presentation of the style, furniture, and accessories;

  • Advice on colour, flooring, wallpaper, window treatments, texture and spatial planning of your environment;

  • Detailed listing of all suggested products, furniture, prices and suppliers.

The cost of the design plan is dependant on the project scope and will be discussed prior to commencement.

  • Estimated at $150 + GST per hour for preparation and presentation (minimum 2 hours).

Project Management

Having us manage your project allows you to concentrate on other priorities while we focus on making sure contractors are in place, products and sourced and the project runs to schedule.

 

Options available are:

  • Hourly Rate: Negotiated rate per hour, estimated at $100 +GST per hour, or part thereof;

  • Cost Plus Method: Charges are a set percentage on all merchandise purchased and tradesmen's services rendered;

  • Mixed Method: Client pays both a set percentage on purchases and a base design fee for hourly rate.    diffusers
